The HR Technology Conference is where the brightest minds in the industry come to discuss the latest insights, innovations, and challenges. And few challenges are more pressing than employee reward.
Rewards impact almost every part of the work that the human resources team does, from acquisition to retention to DEI efforts. Still, many HR teams don’t have a holistic view of reward-related data. Employee engagement, personalization efforts, and other initiatives are suffering as a result.
In a session at the HR Technology Conference, uFlexReward President and Chief Revenue Officer Steve Brink will make the case that a digital total rewards platform is the solution.
The Digitization of Total Rewards: Unilever Case Study
The systems and data used to administer, monitor, and manage total reward spend are disparate and disconnected — even more so if you operate in multiple countries. That leads to limited visibility, poor employee engagement, and a lack of personalization, among other issues.
“Companies operate in a piecemeal fashion when they don’t have an overall strategy for total rewards,” Steve says. “The unified whole is different from the sum of the parts. Adding a single source of truth will improve visibility, personalization, and the employee experience.”
The solution? A digitized total rewards program that sits on top of existing HR systems. In his talk, Steve will explain:
- The advantages of moving to a digitized total rewards program, and the process for doing so.
- How to deliver a consistent, personalized employee experience.
- How to create globally consistent reporting systems across all reward elements.
This is where Unilever enters the picture. In his session, Steve will explain how the global consumer goods company uses uFlexReward to overcome these issues.
Unilever has more than 150,000 employees in 110 countries and a total reward investment of 6 billion euros. This is the unified whole that Steve refers to, and trying to cobble that perspective together from individual reward systems and data sources creates unwieldy complexity.
Unilever found that perspective by integrating uFlexReward as a platform-as-a-service solution to sit on top of the company’s existing rewards ecosystem. Doing so allowed Unilever to:
- Increase employee engagement with flexible, personalized total rewards.
- Get real-time feedback from employees about their total rewards.
- Improve the company’s capacity to analyze — and distill insights from — total global reward spend.
Unilever now is better able to administer rewards and can create custom client applications like open salary reviews to suit their needs.
Steve’s session happens twice: first on Thursday, September 15 at 11:00 a.m in the Surf CD room, and also on Thursday, September 15 at 1:30 p.m. in the Case Study Theatre.
3 Other Sessions We Are Looking Forward to
Speaking alongside Steve are more than a dozen HR and technology experts from various industries. Three highlights from the agenda include:
Cynthia Marshall’s Opening Keynote
Cynthia Marshall, chief executive officer of the Dallas Mavericks and the first Black female CEO of the NBA, kicks off with her keynote, “Going ALL IN: Breaking Down Barriers to Transform Culture.”
You will learn how Marshall transformed the Mavericks’ culture by following the four “I”s, which refer to someone being:
- Intentional.
- Inclusive.
- Insightful.
- Inspirational.
Understand the values she has used as a foundation for all of her business decisions, how she created the right climate for employees, and how she made every voice count. Marshall’s vision has since become the gold standard for diversity and inclusion, and this session will give you the perspective you need to think of “the person first and employee second.”
Marshall’s session is on Tuesday, September 13 at 3:45 p.m.
